Morgan Grand Draw Evening

An absolutely great evening was had by all at the Morgan Grand Draw Evening in aid of the Stoke Lacy Heritage Project to refurbish the church of St. Peter and St. Paul and develop a conservation area in the churchyard. As the spiritual home of the Morgan family, the Morgan Motor Company could not be more supportive of our efforts to preserve the Church and its surroundings.

MMC offered us a free weekend loan of a Morgan Plus 4 as the first prize in our HUGE raffle. Our generous Church Warden also kindly donated a week in a Scottish holiday cottage and our Treasurer a romantic weekend break in a Herefordshire Lodge. The evening helped us to raise over £5,500 towards the project. Thanks must also go to our generous supporters Wye Valley Brewery who provided us with our own special brew for the evening and to Tyrrell Crisps who provided the sustenance.

Steve Morris, MMC's M.D, opened the evening which had everybody's favourite, Martyn Webb, giving us a very amusing and interesting talk about the Morgan family's life and times in Stoke Lacy in the early 1900s. All our thanks to Steve, Martyn and the fabulous Morgan Tour Guides who provided escorted factory tours into the wee small hours.
