Stoke Lacy Heritage

What an amazing day! We promised a right "Big Do" and did we get one! About 100 village residents stepped up to put on a professional and fun-filled day for more than 1,000 visitors with over 70 classic cars. The visitors loved us - couldn't have been more full of praise for our efforts. Our aim for "vintage" worked with many making comments such as "this really takes me back to when I was a child" and "this is a proper old-fashioned fete- the way it used to be".
Steve Morris, MD from Morgan Motor Company, pitched up to open the fete even though he had only just (hours earlier) become a grandad for the first time. Thank you Steve!
The wonderful Worcester Ukulele band entertained us through most of the afternoon with a really upbeat set getting the crowds to join in with the singing (and little ones with the dancing). Our own Village Minstrels then gave it their all before the headline act - the Springfield Jazz band from Almeley - took to the stage. Despite the rain causing the drum kit to be centre stage and the kind soul who accidentally turned the electricity off - this was a brilliant end to a smashing day.
Thanks to everyone who came, who worked and who entertained. Let's do it all again sometime?
